National Database

Since beginning of 1980’s all available breeding information has been collected into one database. This central database provide basis for all pig breeding work, since pedigree production, conformation, central test, health data and unique ID for animals and farms throughout Finland are stored in this unique database. 

Today app. 30 000 sows participates this system. This information recording system is in use on all farms, not only on breeding farms. Faba Pig stores the data and calculates and publishes various reports. The data is sent to registers by special software. The software is used by farms, veterinarians and Faba Pig’s technicians. There are numerous checking procedures for the data before it is accepted to enter the database. All information in database is on hand online to farm owners.
