Finnish Embryos

In dairy herds, animal genetics is one of the most important factors of profitability. Animals with good genetics are recognized from their milk yield and health due to their good conformation which enables long stay in the herd. All the donors are selected carefully, so they are functional cows with high productivity, good conformation and good health.

Finland has a lot of experience of embryo transfers. We make more than 500 embryo flushings every year. Finnish farmers use both Finnish and imported embryos.

ASMO-nucleus herd has been working since 1997. It was the first nucleus for red breeds in whole world. More than 70 first calvers are tested every year in ASMO and within 10 years over 300 bull calves have been bought for AI.
